Best Dive Watches

How Do I Choose?

When searching for a watch there are many, many different choices – narrowing it down to something specific like a dive watch would help make the decision easier, right? Well, maybe once upon a time that would have been the case, but these days there are so many different brands out there all claiming that theirs are the finest dive watches how are you supposed to know who is truthful and who is not?

One of the first ways you can try and narrow it down is to check and see at how deep the watch is water resistant. For example, anything considered to be a true dive watch would be water resistant at least up to 330 feet (100 meters) – however, most dive watches are actually water resistant much deeper and on average double that at 660 feet (200 meters).

So in order to help you find the best scuba diving watches available today, we’ve taken the time to consider things like user ratings, water resistance, quality of materials and price among other things – and we’ve narrowed it down to the top three best men’s dive watches.

Men's Dive Watches:

Citizen Men’s BN0095-59L Eco-Drive Scuba Fin Dive Watch

This Citizen’s Scuba Fin Dive watch is an excellent choice when looking specifically at dive watches. It has an easily readable dial that is blue in shade with luminous hands and hour indicators. The minute indicators are around the bezel, which is black and made of stainless steel – as is the casing and the band.

When considering this watch it is nice to note that though it is simple in features, it is extremely water resistant – up to 660 feet (200 meters) – allowing it to be one of the best diver’s watches out there. The luminous display will easily be seen even when deep under water where it gets dark – and it is solar charged which means that you will likely never have to buy a new battery – it can charge with both natural and indoor lighting.

Featuring Japanese quartz movement and a mineral glass cover this watch is definitely made of some study materials. It offers a date feature at the 3 o’clock position of the analog display. It may not have any fancy extra’s but this watch is a classic and it definitely gets the job done for any diver.

Seiko Men’s SSC021 Solar Diver Chronograph Watch

A little less expensive than the last this Seiko men’s solar diver watch features many extras that the Citizen watch did not offer. You will notice this right away as it has three chronograph sub-dials that feature 24 hours 60 seconds and 30 minutes for the most accurate time telling capability. The sharp look is always nice, but the fact that it has luminous hands and time indicators make this watch exceptionally easy to read in daylight or in the dark waters of the ocean.

The band is made of a rubber material that is durable and comfortable and comes in a brilliant black shade. The bezel is made of stainless steel, though it matches the rest of the watch with its black shade. If you are looking for a time piece that will look nice with any outfit as well as being functional as a dive watch, then this is definitely the watch you’ve been searching for.

This watch uses quartz movement and has a Hardlex cover over the dial – meant to keep your watch in great shape over many, many years. It is water resistant up to 660 feet (200 meters) – so it is right up there with the rest of the best dive watches around. It is a little bit heavier than some watches, but that is not such a big deal once you’re in the water anyway!

Casio Men’s AMW330B-1AV

You might not often think of a fancy looking analog watch when you hear the name Casio – however this chronograph, analog watch is extremely refined considering its lower price point. If you’re on a budget but you are looking for a high quality dive watch then this is definitely one to consider – it has all the features you have come to expect out of a great watch after all.

Along with the three sub-dials you will find that this watch has luminous hands and time indicators as well as the minutes indicated around dial of the watch. There is also a date feature right at the 3 o’clock position, next to the Cassio Quartz logo. This excellent watch runs on Japanese Quartz and has a band made out of a black resin material.

The bezel and casing on this watch are made of stainless steel and the cover for the dial is made out of mineral glass – so even though this isn’t as expensive it still uses high quality materials. This dive watch, however, is only water resistant up to 330 feet (100 meters), which is the very minimum to be considered a dive watch – but for those who are on a budget this doesn’t make for a bad option for a fishing trip, day at the beach, or swimming in any pool, lake or pond!

To Sum Up...

What it all comes down to in the end, is what features you really cannot live without and which ones you could give or take – as well as how much you are able to afford. You may want to consider though, the fact that by spending more on a watch that is water resistant up to 660 feet + may be a better option if you intend on using your watch for a many different trips to the ocean or if you enjoy water sports regularly.
